Robert Neal Phillips

Robert Neal Phillips, 83, of Statesville, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at W.G. Hefner Salisbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Robert was born on June 6, 1941, in El Camino, California, to the late Lyle Melvin Phillips and Viola Marie Straw Phillips. He was a graduate of Escalon High School and was a Police Officer in Charlotte for many years. He was a member of Grace Alliance Fellowship Church, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish Robert’s memory are his wife of 53 years, Brenda Phelps Phillips; his son, Robert Paul Phillips (Laurie); daughters, Karen Ann P. Griffin (Rick), Sandra Fox (Thomas), Leann Thomas, Shaye McClelland, and Shannon Ferree (James, III); fifteen grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother. Clarence Phillips; sister, Donna Marino.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Grace Alliance Fellowship Church. The family will receive friends, following the service, at his residence.

Memorials may be made to a veteran’s group of the donor’s choice.
