Robert David Hahn

May 24, 1942 — December 10, 2025

Statesville

Robert David Hahn was born on May 24, 1942 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. His childhood was not ideal, but he and his siblings persevered. His trials made him stronger and as an adult he was determined not to repeat his experiences with his own family. Growing up with next to nothing made him a champion for service to others. He began working at age 15 and worked in the grocery/distribution business his whole life. This made him the ideal candidate to manage the LDS Bishop’s Storehouse in Greensboro, which he did for two years. He streamlined their whole system, making it faster and more efficient to get orders to those in need. He also volunteered for many community charities including Salvation Army and Yokefellows.

He married his first wife, Jeanette, on December 8, 1963. She introduced him to the LDS church and he was baptized on November 26, 1967. After having three children they were sealed as a family on August 14, 1970. Jeanette tragically died just one week later. He married his second wife, Millie, on June 7, 1974 and they added four more kids to the family. Raising seven kids on a meager salary was not always easy, but he did his best with what he had. He has always been a great example of a strong work ethic, humility, service, and most of all laughter and happiness. He was happiest when his family was gathered around him.

He went to be with the Savior on December 10, 2025. He is survived by four siblings, six of his children: Paula Smith (Chris), David Hahn (Debra), Kathryn Guin, Jared Hahn (Mitzi), Amy Christensen (Tobias), and Joseph Hahn (Jennifer). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, both wives, and one daughter.
