Richard was born to parents Bernard and Victoria Ruzewski on February 23rd of 1939 in Cheektowaga, New York. He grew up in a family of four brothers. He served his country proudly as US veteran, and also his hometown as a volunteer firefighter at the Jamison Road Fire Department in Elma, New York. On May 9th of 1964 he married Rita Jean Renzoni. They raised their two sons in Elma, New York preceding their retirement later in life in Mooresville, North Carolina. Richard was a hardworking and social man who worked tirelessly to support his family. He was incredibly proud of his two sons, frequently sharing stories of their accomplishments. He was an active member of the Catholic Church.  St Vincent de Paul in NY and St. Therese in NC.  Richard was an excellent baker, known for his large collection of holiday cookies at Christmas. He was passionate about sports. You could always catch him watching football (Bills), basketball or racing. Richard also loved to hunt as well as everything outdoors. He looked forward to his annual hunting trips with family and friends.  He spent his later years making new friends, playing score keeper for games, and watching the lake with his two fluffy friends. He is survived by his children; Richard Jr. and Ronald, and his grandchildren; Taylor and Kenzie. At Richard’s request, his body will be cremated. Services will be held at a later date to celebrate Richard’s life.
