Richard Medford Holland

R. Medford Holland, age 91, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Baptist Hospital. He was the son of the late Clifford “RC” Holland and Delia Mae Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Troutman Holland.

He is survived by one son, Keith Holland; one stepdaughter, Billie Ann Lorbacher (Kenneth) of Clayton; one stepson, John Troutman III (Sheryl) of Floresville, TX; one brother, James Holland (Saundra) of Olin; and one sister, Ramona Stafford Golden (Clark) of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kenneth Lorbacher Jr., Scott Lorbacher, Donna Smith, Katie Reese, Sharh Gray, and Stephanie McGilvay; three great-grandchildren, Harley Coley, Olivia Murphy, and Cody Murphy; two nephews, Randy Holland and Dwayne Stafford; and two nieces, Stephanie Stone and Leanne Barkley.

Medford never met a stranger, always happy to talk to anyone. He will be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Union Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Robin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
