Rev. Alfred Amin Saleeby

Rev. Alfred Amin Saleeby, 86, of Troutman passed away peacefully at Gordon Hospice House on Thursday, December 1, 2011. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 2, 1925, the son of the late Amin and Naseema Saleeby. He was a Presbyterian minister who retired after serving congregations for 39 years and continued his ministry in various capacities around the community after retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Irene Couchman Saleeby, and later by his second wife, Margaret Vivian Saleeby. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, David Saleeby and wife, Jane, and Danny Saleeby and wife, Windy; two daughters, Deanna Saleeby Sawyer and husband, Mark, and Dana Saleeby; a step daughter, Shelley Arthur and husband, Brian; a brother, Joseph Amin Saleeby 92, of Salisbury; thirteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Troutman Funeral Home from 3 until 5 p.m. Funeral services for Rev. Saleeby will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at New Perth ARP Church with the Revs. William Anderson and Jeff Jacobs officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in St. Martin’s Cemetery on Wallace Springs Road in Statesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
