Reta Sue Stradley Phillips Moore

October 29, 1943 — June 13, 2026

Mooresville

Sue Moore, of Mooresville, joined her loved ones in Heaven on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She was born to the late James Isaiah "Ike" Stradley and Byrd Ruark Stradley Matthews. She was proceeded in death by husbands Dean Phillips and Thomas Moore Sr.; and her siblings Oscar, Curtis, Ray Stradley and Francis Reid. Sue passed away at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, surrounded by her loving family.

She graduated in 1961 from Cool Spring High School, winning the Athletics Award for Basketball. Sue enjoyed waterskiing, raising English Budgies, planting hundreds of azaleas, rhododendron, and beautiful flower varieties in the yard. However, her cooking abilities will go down in history.

The hearts of her loved ones will always remain full. She left beautiful memories to remember her by. She devoted her life to taking care of the people who were dear to her.

Sue will always be deeply missed and remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, Granny, sister and friend. Her survivors include: her sons, Jeff Phillips and Kelly Phillips (Camille); grandchildren, Jessica (Shane), Jason (Star), Stone (Megan) and Slade; great-grandchildren, Seth and Joanna; and sister, Phyllis Stradley Travis.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
