Mrs. Rachel Louise Russ Lipe, 88, of Troutman, went to her heavenly home on Monday, January 4, 2016.
She was born in Forsyth County to the late Gladys Sweet and Henry Coleman Russ.
She was married to Brady Graham Lipe, who preceded her in death, leaving her to raise her four children alone. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she worked in public work for many years. She enjoyed her family very much and all their times together. She also enjoyed hobbies such as quilting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby (Betty) Lipe of Concord and Billy Lipe of Troutman; daughters, Carolyn "Cotton" Link of Cooleemee and Vickie (Andrew) Cranford of Statesville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. today (Wed., January 6, 2016) at Troutman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7th in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Williams and Dalton Cranford officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery.
