Phyllis Robbins Mayberry, 82, of Troutman, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Phyllis was born November 1, 1942, in Iredell County to the late J.W. Robbins and Fannie McLean Robbins. She was a graduate of Mooresville High School, and she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Instruction at Mitchell Community College.
Phyllis had many passions. She loved to travel, lounge around the pool, and play card games. She enjoyed her lifelong friends in her Sunday school class at Western Ave Baptist Church. Her biggest and greatest blessings in life were her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. Her laugh was contagious, her hugs warm, and she never would turn down a sweet treat. She was present in everything from sporting events, graduations, birthday parties, weddings, baby showers, recitals, the weekend cookouts, holidays, she wouldn’t miss it, no matter what! Her favorite memories were spending the summers at the beach with her daughters and grandkids, and she was fortunate enough to make the same memories with her great grandkids as well. The summer of 2024 will forever be our favorite with her.
Most important was Phyllis’ love for her Savior. Because of this love and her relationship with Jesus, we know that as soon as she took her last breath here on Earth, she was in His presence. Our family takes comfort, knowing that we will see her again one day and that she is reunited with her husband Frank, our Paw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Delano “Dee” Mayberry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kim Reid (Tim) and Robin Pritchard (Doug); four grandchildren, Tyler Reid (Margaret), Mallory Foote (Ryan), and Alex and Claire Pritchard; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Reid, Briggs and Alden Foote; numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Troutman Funeral Home is serving the Mayberry family.
