Phyllis Neill Gryder

Phyllis Neill Gryder, 81, of Troutman, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born in Iredell County on September 19, 1931 to the late Andrew A. and Naomi Ostwalt Neill. She retired in 1997 from a dedicated teaching career as a special education teacher with the Iredell-Statesville school system. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gryder was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Gryder, and all of her siblings. Mrs. Gryder is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at New Perth ARP Church Cemetery in Troutman with Mrs. Gryder’s niece, the Rev. Mandy Neill Jones, officiating. The family requests donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. The family would like to thank Hospice and their staff for all the help and loving care they gave to Phyllis.
