Peggy worked as a medical ward secretary at Davis Hospital and then went on to work for Dr. Palms, as his medical assistant. She worked many years with Bali Co., where she help make the bra worn by Jennifer Grey, in the movie, Dirty Dancing.  Later in life, Peggy worked for her daughter, as her right hand assistant and office manager at Leader Home Sales, in Mooresville. She retired from Leader Home Sales, in 2005. Peggy loved gardening with her daughter and granddaughter. Her love of tomatoes took center stage in the garden every year. She was always excited to share her avid love of astrology with her granddaughter and her passion for all things from the past. Her story telling of the past was simply breathtaking.  She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, collecting books, jewelry, old treasures of any kind as she called them. She enjoyed attending NASCAR races, her love for Dale Earnhardt Sr., and going to music concerts with her family.  Peggy was a very sentimental person who valued love, respect and kindness to one another. She never met anyone she couldn’t be a friend to. Her kitchen was always open, she loved to cook for you. In her younger years you would find her skiing on Lake Norman with her family. Her love of animals created lots of pets and rescued strays for her children through the years. Her most cherished dog was Holly Belle, a miniature Yorkshire Terrier, given to her by her son-in-law, for a Christmas present. Her life was her children and her granddaughter, a very special Mother and Grammy indeed. She encouraged us to be good people and give help and love wherever it was needed, to be passionate about everything in life, to enjoy the quietness of nature and the calm of the night. To appreciate life because it could be gone in a second, to be happy during the good times and to be humble during the bad times, but never ever give up. Peggy wanted to mention, our family tree.  Her Grandmother, Cordia Ball is a direct descendant of Colonel William Ball, Mary Ball Washington, mother of George Washington, the first President of the United States. A very special mention to her only granddaughter, Rebecca Lorene Poole (caregiver) for her love and dedication to her Grammy. The very special bond of love and respect she was able to give to her, was truly beautiful to watch. Also preceding her in death, her most special and loving grandmother, Cordia Ball Lockman Myers aka Bopa, her grandfather, David Carl Lockman, her grandmother, Katie Juanita Anthony Lackey, her grandfather, Edward Ernest Lackey, her great grandmother, Rebecca Melinda Anthony, her great grandfather, Z.R. Anthony, her brother, Ned Eugene Lockman, Jr., her sweet nephew, Ned Eugene Lockman lll, her aunts, Dorothy Perry and Molena Lackey. She would also like to mention Donna Lockman, widow, to Ned Eugene Lockman, Jr., Cathy Powers, her daughter in heart, for loving and supporting her daughter and granddaughter throughout this journey, Linda Lockman, Judy Gaither. Peggy was known as “Mama Peggy” on Facebook and enjoyed sharing her videos and pictures that gave her family memories to cherish. She wanted to share her battle with Alzheimer’s, as it may help someone in the future. From her immediate family, we would like to give a special thank you, to all who prayed for Peggy and loved her. Mom requested a private graveside ceremony, with Pastor Paul St. Clair, St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating the funeral service, bagpipes and her beautiful flowers.
