Pauline “Polly” Campbell Carpenter, 99, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Pauline was born February 28, 1926, in Iredell County, to the late Lee Roy and Mary Suma Shook Campbell. She was retired from Hunt Manufacturing, and she was a long-time faithful member of Bethlehem Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Donald Carpenter; sons, Bobby Carpenter and Dale Carpenter; brothers, W. G. Campbell, Carroll Campbell, Billy Campbell and Gary Campbell; daughter-in-law, Linda Carpenter; brother-in-law, Tom Watt; sisters-in-law, Dessie Campbell and Judy Campbell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Doris Campbell Watt; sister-in-law, Sue Campbell; her son, Terry Carpenter (Terri); daughter-in-law, Linda Carpenter Lippard; grandchildren, Todd Carpenter (Shelley), Dawn Benfield (Mark Josey), Annette Weaver (Chad Eckard), and Tiffany Nagy (Wade); great grandchildren, Samantha Bingman (James), Jake Carpenter, Celeste Sharpe (Chase), Dylan Weaver (Bri), Alyssa Weaver, Emma Nagy, Lela Nagy, River Nagy, Porter Nagy, and Olive Nagy; great-great grandchildren, Lydia Bingman, Wrenley Carpenter, and Lily Weaver; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 4 at Bethlehem Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Nichols officiating. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 3 at Troutman Funeral Home.
