Paul Laxton Hartline

Paul Laxton Hartline, 80, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at his son’s home.

Paul was born on June 12, 1942, in Iredell County to the late Nathan and Kathryne Watts Hartline. He graduated from Statesville High School and worked at the Department of Transportation for thirty-seven years before his retirement. After retiring, Paul became an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hartline was preceded in death by his wife, Margarette “Layne” McHargue Hartline. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Stephanie Styers, Paul Hartline, II (Becky), brother, Leon Hartline, grandchildren, Brittney Styers (Ashley), Michelle Styers, Jay Hartline and Nathan Hartline and two great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral service be conducted at 2:00 pm following the visitation with Rev. John Parks officiating. Entombment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394, in honor of Paul’s soon to be born great grandchildren.
