Nell Sherrill Neill

Nell Sherrill Neill, 97, formerly of Troutman, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Genesis ElderCare in Mooresville, N.C. She was born in Iredell County on Sept. 19, 1912, to the late Ney Clifford and Mary Anna Howard Sherrill. She worked in the finishing department of Troutman Shirt Company and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Troutman. She is survived by two sons, Robert S. Neill and wife Jane of Mooresville and Thomas L. Neill and wife Merle of Wilmington; two sisters, Helen Neel of Mooresville and Jean Pharr of Statesville; and one brother, Joe Sherrill, of Starke, Fla. She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Watson "Watt" A. Neill, one sister, Ruby Deaton, and two brothers, Frank and Lynn Sherrill. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Troutman with the Rev. Jack Wallace officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in memory of Mrs. Neill.
