Nancy Troutman

Nancy Rappe Troutman, age 85, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at her home. 

Born on November 24, 1940, she was the wife of Jim Troutman and the daughter of the late Rome Linnie and Mary Alice Shumake Rappe. 

She was a graduate of Mooresville High School and Lowrance School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Iredell Memorial Hospital along with Iredell County Health Department and Professional Alternative Care (Home Health Care). She was a member of Covenant ARP Church in North Wilkesboro.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her son, James Bostian “Jamie” Troutman, II (Crystal) of Statesville, her daughter, Julie Troutman Hulin (David) of Statesville, and her son, Rev. Joseph Lee Troutman (Jennifer) of Grapevine, TX. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Casey Troutman Reed (Jacob), Dr. Jennifer Lynn Sherrill, James “Chipper” Bostian Troutman III, Caleb Luke Troutman (Raegan), Joshua Andrew Sherrill, Elisabeth Grace Troutman, Anna Katherine Troutman, and Jacob Matthew Troutman; as well as her great granddaughter, Evelyn Lucille “Evie Lou” Troutman. Two sisters, Phyllis Robinson and Sherry McCoy (Stanley) also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, John Jacob “Jakey” Troutman, who passed away in 1982; and one brother-in-law, Steve Robinson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Troutman Historical Society Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
