Nancy Jeanette (Miller) Mayhew

Nancy Jeanette Miller Mayhew, 97, of Troutman, passed away, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House.

Mrs. Mayhew was born August 23, 1921 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Robie Baxter Miller and Ollie Lee Story Miller. She attended Mooresville, NC schools and was married to the late James Robert “Bob” Mayhew, who died in 1996.

Mrs. Mayhew was a member of New Perth ARP Church in Troutman. She retired from Troutman Industries as a seamstress and continued sewing & crafting until the age of 97.  Jeanette enjoyed many years of sewing and crafting with friends at the Iredell Senior Center and also enjoyed traveling with friends.

She is survived by one son, Robert Darrell Mayhew of Mooresville, one daughter, Brenda Clontz (Vernon) of Mooresville, one sister, Joann Gamble of Mooresville, one brother, R.B. Miller, Jr. of Mooresville, half-brother, Archie Miller of Troutman; three grandchildren, Cheryl Harmon (David), Scott Clontz, Stacy Clontz (Janet); six great grandchildren, Shane Harmon (Megan), Dustin Harmon, Will Clontz, Brandon Clontz, Logan Bowden (Hunter) and Ashley Grimsley.

In addition to her husband and Parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill H. Miller and brother-in-law, Paul Gamble.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

She left many talents and memories with family and friends that will be shared for many generations.  It blessed her heart to know that she had shared and left many pieces of her handwork with each of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. She continued her love of sewing and crocheting until shortly before her death.
