Nancy Simmons Goforth

Nancy Simmons Goforth, 75, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Gordon Hospice House.

Nancy was born on February 23, 1946 in Alexander County and was the daughter of the late Dewey Simmons and Lenabelle Cline Simmons. She attended Taylorsville High School and was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Morgan Goforth, one brother, Jeff Simmons and two sisters, Hilda Seters and Patsy Sigmon.

Mrs. Goforth is survived by her husband, Steven Curtis Goforth, son, Rev. J. Curtis Goforth (Jennifer) and grandchildren, Cora Goforth and Lylah Goforth. Also surviving are her four brothers, Joe Simmons, Dean Simmons, Lee Simmons, Michael Simmons and three sisters, Deborah Little, Melissa Ritchie and Linda Seagle.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 2, at Christ Boulevard UMC. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Sara Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
