Nancy Platt Diehm

Jan 15, 1950 — Oct 18, 2026

Nancy Diehm, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of Henry and Eulalia Platt, who preceded her in death. She attended Kent State University and worked as an elementary physical education teacher and dance instructor. Nancy shared an important chapter of her life married to Robert Diehm and always remembered him with warmth and affection.

Although technically an only child, Nancy considered her cousins Pam, Julie (Ledbetter), and James Hernon her siblings after they lost their mother at a young age. She was also a loving presence in the lives of their children, Joseph and Lisa (Moyer) Olzewski, and Kelsey and Jessica Ledbetter. She also cherished their children, Todd and Alexa Moyer, and Matthew and Caleb Olzewski as her own grandchildren, a central part of their lives from birth.

Nancy loved the Pittsburgh Penguins, traveling, summers in Martha’s Vineyard, music, dance, reading, cross stitch and hunting for seashells. For many years, she spent winters on Sanibel Island and traveled throughout the country with her close friend, Faith Weppelman. Her college roommate and lifelong best friend, Liz Michael, was always a source of friendship and support.

Later in life, Nancy moved to North Carolina to be closer to family when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2020. Her cousin Pam lovingly cared for her until her passing.

Nancy will be remembered for her love of family, her devotion to the children in her life, her adventurous spirit, and the lasting friendships she treasured. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Mass will held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 24 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 217 Brawley School Road, Mooresville NC 28117.
