Millie Yamaji

September 4, 1940 - December 22, 2017 Millie Anne Kelly Yamaji, 77, of Troutman, passed away on December 22 at her residence. She was born Sept. 4, 1940 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late William Carl Kelly and Irene Winecoff Kelly. She attended Iredell County Schools and Kings Business College. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Yamaji. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jamey F. Rimmer (Gerald); sons, Derek Fox (Tammy) and Sean Yamaji, all of Troutman; brother, Keith Kelly (Peg) of Troutman; three grandchildren, Courtney (Brian) Baker, Caitlin Rimmer, and Zak Yamaji, and three great-grandchildren, Kara, Carmen, and Lucas. Millie was an E.M.T. and worked as a Med Tech at Genesis Elder Care for many years. She loved her job, and her many special patients she doted on. She enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, reading, and crocheting. The family wishes to thank all her many caregivers of the past four years, Mary Ferguson, Kim Smith, Machell Daniel, and others. Also, a special thanks to all the staff at Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County. A private service will be conducted at a later date.
