Mildred Sherrill Murdock, 99, of Troutman, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015
Mrs. Murdock was born on January 29, 1916 to the late Flossie Morrison Sherrill and John Finney Sherrill.
Mrs. Murdock was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman. She greatly enjoyed her Sunday School classes as long as she was able to attend.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oswald Murdock; son, Larry Wayne Murdock; grandson, Grant Holland Brown; brothers, Jay and John Sherrill; and sisters, Margaret Poplin and Dorothy Poole.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jean Murdock Brown (Lannie), of Troutman, Joyce Feilke, of Austin, TX, Teri Murdock Earnhardt (Franklin), of Salisbury; son, Kenneth Sherrill Murdock (Betty), of Troutman; sister, Helen Sallee of Eureka, California; grandchildren, Gwyn Brown Oates (Billy) of Easley, S. C., Ellen Brown Warner (Bret) of Greenwood, S.C., Kelly R Feilke (Brenda) of Fort Worth, TX, Kurt Murdock Feilke (Tasha) of Boston, Massachusetts, Patrick Harley Hutchens (Erin) of Troutman, and Travis Lee Hutchens (Jessie) of Semmes, Alabama; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. at the gravesite in St. Michael's Cemetary in Troutman. A graveside memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dieter Punt officiating.

The family deeply appreciates the constant care given to Mrs. Murdock from the dedicated doctors and nurses at Iredell Memorial Hospital. A special gratitude is extended to Dr. Benjamin Dunlap.
