Mildred Lewis

Mildred Joyce Reed Lewis, 92, of Statesville, passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

She was born on August 10, 1932, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late Shelton Marvin Reed Zeffie Rogers Reed. Mildred was married to James Maurice Lewis, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Statesville Seventh Day Adventist Church, and she worked as a secretary in the insurance industry for many years.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Reed (Nettie Mae); grandson, Scott Rogers, great grandsons, Stephen Tamez and Ethan Wayne.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Fredda Rogers (Jerry), and Janis Woodard (Terry); grandchildren, Andrea Deegan Smith, Melanie Nesbitt (Ryan), Jesse Woodard (Tiffany), Shelley Rogers, Roxann Rogers, and Amanda Rogers; great grandchildren, Courtney Deegan, Zoey Smith, Zelma Woodard, Eliza Woodard, Vincent Woodard, Stacy Nesbitt, Brooke Nesbitt, Sarah Kryfko, Samantha Lovette, Ryan Lovette (Alex), Salem Rogers, and Anna Rose Rogers; four great-great grandchildren; honorary daughter, Len MacNamara.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Pine Grove Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Cove officiating.
