Mildred Ostwalt Elliott

Mildred Ostwalt Elliott, age 101, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

Born on January 19, 1925, to parents, Gray Bynum Ostwalt and Jessie Mae Ostwalt of Statesville, Mildred was one of eleven children. She operated The Percolator Restaurant in Troutman for many years and was known for her wonderful cooking.

Mildred married Frank Elliott on June 15, 1946, and they were married for 49 years at his passing.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Tony Elliott (Sandy Davidson) and Joel Elliott (Angie); daughter-in-law, Janet Elliott; grandchildren, Wesley Elliott, Tracy Cooper (Tommy) and Travis Elliott; great-grandchildren, RueAnne Cooper and Kylie Elliott. She is further survived by her brother, Lathan Ostwalt (Elaine), and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Clay Elliott; her brothers, Albert, William, Frank and David Ostwalt; and her sisters, Mary Munday, Rachel Moss, Dessie Campbell, Nell Kerley and Myrtle Freeze.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 24 at 12:00 pm in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Burgess officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, prior to the funeral.

A private burial will follow the funeral service.

Serving as pall bearers will be Brad Ostwalt, Seth Ostwalt, Jessie Ostwalt, Justin Boggs, and James Boggs.
