Mickey Nelson

Mickey Chilton Nelson, 76, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at her home.

Mickey was born on November 13, 1947, in Mount Airy, NC to the late Ada Bottoms Chilton. She was the owner of Nelson HillSide Farms where she took great pride and joy in caring for her horses. Mickey was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Mooresville. She loved talking to her sister on the phone every day and was a loving wife to Billy Ray Nelson for 61 and a half years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and mother-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Mickey was preceded in death by her son, Billy Nelson and brother, James Chilton.

Those left to cherish Mickey’s memory include her children, Lisa N. Bowman (James), Robbey J. Nelson (Stacy), Andy Nelson, her sister, Audrey Livingood and grandchildren, Chrystal Johns (Tray), Amanda Henderson (Joe), and Katie Moore (Michael). Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Christian Kepley, Alyssa Kepley, Jake Henderson, Addison Johns, Jamey Henderson, Colt Johns, Brycen Moore, Hudson Moore, Waylon Miller, Layla Miller, Ainsley Miller and her fur baby, Izzy.

A memorial service will be conducted 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Troutman Funeral Home with Rev. Calmage Holler officiating. The family will visit with friends an hour prior to the service from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
