Michael "Fluke" Lee Smith

Michael Lee Smith “Fluke”, 68, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

Mike was born September 23, 1956, in Iredell County, to the late Louie Lee Smith and Barbara Orbison Davidson. He worked at Walmart for many years. He loved bowling, playing softball and participating in local theater productions. He was also an avid Tarheels fan and never missed an opportunity to tell a joke and make people laugh. Mike was of the Baptist faith.

Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his sister, Sherry Nicholson (Kent); his niece, Jessie Marshall (Caleb); great-nieces and nephew, Lyla, Gemma and Everett Marshall; aunt, Nancy Orbison; cousins, Jane Morrow (Roger), Kenny Orbison (Charlotte) and Amber Morrow, as well as numerous other cousins; the Little Theater family and his softball and bowling families.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 29 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Byers officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Burial will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 30 at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

Mike’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Mitchell Mack Hospice House.
