Maxine LeVan

Maxine Sprinkle LeVan, 87, of Statesville, passed away peacefully Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House with her family by her side.

Maxine was born June 15, 1938, in Iredell County, to the late William and Pauline Massey Sprinkle. She was a graduate of Central High School and a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. She played piano at Pressly Memorial ARP Church for more than 25 years, and she retired from Public Service Gas Company after 35 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 69 years, Alfred Landon LeVan; her son, Michael LeVan (Roxanna); grandchildren, Landon LeVan (Addie), Lauren LeVan and Kaitlyn LeVan; sisters, Wanda Crouch and Patricia Johnson (Lloyd); nephew, Todd Crouch and niece, Lisa Crouch.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 2 at Yadkin Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Crider and Rev. Jeff LeVan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
