Matoka Ostwalt Mullis went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Tate and Rubie Clodfelter Ostwalt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee "Red" Mullis, and her brother, Conrad Ostwalt.
She is survived by her son, Graham Mullis (Ruth) of Troutman; three daughters, Gilda Pryor (Ed) of Troutman, Terri Crosby (Dave) of Statesville and Amanda Weiser of Troutman; five grandchildren, Micah Owens, Sarah Owens, Spencer Crosby, Ross Weiser and Reed Weiser; great-grandson, Hunter Owens; sister, Maxine; and sister-in-law, Doris Ostwalt.
Matoka was a lifelong member of Troutman 1st United Methodist Church and was actively involved as long as her health permitted. She had a great love for children, keeping children in her home, working at Happy Days in Troutman, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Troutman 1st United Methodist Church. Receiving of friends will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
