Mary Woerner

January 24, 1924- November 26, 2016 Mary Lochner Woerner, known to family and friends as Meme, passed away on Nov. 26, 2016. Meme was born on January 24, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Mary Lochner. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester J. Woerner, her brother Edwin, great-grandson Jereme Schubel and son-in-law Richard Kane. Meme loved spending time with her family, gardening, playing cards, bowling, needlework, and traveling. She is survivied by her sister, Frances Lochner; daughters, Mary Lou Schubel (Dave), Janice Kane (Lon), Cathy Kofke (Bob); six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. Meme’s quick wit will be missed by all. The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with a celebration of life at 1:15 p.m. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Iredell County and the staff at Brookdale-Churchill.
