Mary Ruth Talbert

June 18, 1928 - May 7, 2016 Mary Ruth Williams Talbert, 87, of Troutman, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born June 18, 1928 in Rowan County to the late Henry Arthur and Willie Jane Williams. Mrs. Talbert was a very caring lady who helped deliver meals for Troutman HELP Ministries for a number of years. Gardening and her great grandchildren were her passions and she was a long time member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church in Mooresville. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jane (David) Sherrill; sisters, Agnes Shue, Mildred (James) Lynch and Lucy Gentle; grandchildren, Leann (Rich) Adkins and Jeremy (Sara) Sherrill; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew and Aidan Adkins and Ethan and Connor Sherrill; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Junior Talbert; brother, James "Bud" Williams; and sisters, Thelma Martin, Ethel Shue and Catherine Wilkinson. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Kramm officiating. Interment will be at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church.
