Mary Sides

March 12, 1930 - October 5, 2017 Mrs. Mary Morrison Moorefield Sides, age 87, a resident of Troutman, NC, died peacefully at her home on Thursday October 5, 2017. Born on March 12, 1930, she was the daughter of William "Bill" Moorefield and Mary Johnson Moorefield. She was a former secretary and Craft Store Owner and member of New Perth A.R.P Church and Troutman Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Ernest E. Sides (Madge); Jeffery Sides (Debbie), and Steven Sides; thirteen grandchildren, Jill Sides Lauer (Tommy); Robert Sides (Kelly); Cory Sides (Tanya); Josh Sides (Maria); Philip J. Sides (Jennifer); Erin Sides Fritz (Tyler); Laura Sides Boger (Jon); Nathan Sides; Kevin Sides; Leslie Sides; Zack Sides; Buddy Sides; and Kayle Sides; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Lillie, Lexie, Tucker, Luke, Landon, Cam, Finn, Owen, Hudson, Brady, Wyatt Sides, Brielle Boger, Adley Fritz and Macie Sides, with one more boy due in October. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest (Buddy) E. Sides Jr., sister, Barbara Nunn Moorefield, and special aunt, Mallie Wasson. The family will receive friends at Troutman 1st United Methodist Church on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Hamrick officiating. The committal will immediately follow the service at New Perth A.R.P. Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to First UMC Troutman, P.O. Box 717, Troutman, NC 28166. Troutman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Mary Sides.
