Mary Margaret Lytle Riggins

Aug. 10, 1921 - Nov. 10, 2017 Born on August 10, 1921 in McDowell County to Oren and Annie Lytle, Mary Margaret was the first of four girls. She was married to Arthur James Riggins for 48 years. After a stay at Autumn Care in Cornelius, she passed away on November 10, 2017 at the age of 96. She is survived by sons, John (wife, Linda); Tom (wife, Linda); Bob (wife, Sandy); daughter, Mary Ann Sabatinni and one sister, Peggy McCurry. Also, Mary Margaret had 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church for 70 years , she served in many capacities. She also worked for Biltmore Dairy for 45 years and later was employed by Pony Express and Wells Fargo. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and two sisters, Polly Salzman and Helen Phifer. She loved her Lord, family, friends, quilting, flowers and hummingbirds. Visitation at Pritchard Memorial will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 14th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bobby Morrow officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 for the "Now Is The Time" campaign.
