Jan. 23, 1921 - Jan. 28, 2015 Mary Lou Dagenhart Hager, 94, of Troutman, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Gordon Hospice House. Born in Alexander County on January 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Noah Burgess Dagenhart and Loula Belle Beam Dagenhart. She graduated from Sharon High School in 1938 and attended Statesville Business College. Mrs. Hager retired from the accounting department of Forest Products after over 15 years of dedicated service. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 25 years and was the eldest founding member of Fallstown Baptist Church in Troutman. She was cherished by her family and will be remembered most for her kind, gentle spirit. Mrs. Hager was an excellent cook and loved working a garden. She was a true example of a Christian lady. Mrs. Hager is survived by her daughter, Beverly Montgomery, of Troutman; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Gloria Hager of Statesville; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Devon Barnes; five grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Vickey Montgomery, Tracy and Ralph Wallace, Kirk and Sherry Hager, Kevin and Renee Montgomery and Jennifer and David Holden; eleven great grandchildren, Justin Wallace and Amber Peterson, Shanna Wallace and Ethan Rumple, Madison Montgomery, Zachary Montgomery, Caleb Hager, Becca Hager, Abby Hager, Maryn Holden, Halen Holden, Scotty and Belinda Chandler and Kenneth and Deann Hunsucker; three great-great grandchildren, Brittany Chandler, Chelsea Chandler and Savannah Hunsucker; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Raymond Glenn Hager. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Anderson, Plato, Olney, Glenn, Rowe and Paul Dagenhart; sisters, Maude Dagenhart, Elsie Gantt, Stella Comer, Ella Morrison and Ruth Stikeleather; son-in-law, Robert Montgomery; and great granddaughter, Dagen Ruth Holden. Funeral services to celebrate her beautiful life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 at Fallstown Baptist Church in Troutman with the Rev. Dr. David Troutman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens.
