Mary Lee Riddle Clodfelter, 88, of Troutman, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville. She was born in Ashe County on May 29, 1922 to the late Wiley Wenton and Oci Dollar Riddle. She was married to the late Reuben David Clodfelter who passed away on September 18, 1998. She worked as a beautician and factory worker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Mary Lee loved flowers and her animals. Mrs. Clodfelter is survived by one daughter, Nancy C. Shoemaker and husband, Bobby Lee, of Troutman; two grandchildren, Paul David Shoemaker (Teresa) of Troutman and Sharon Lynn Shoemaker (Chris Baker) of Miller’s Creek; a great grandson, Colin Shoemaker; a sister, Maggie R. Reid of Concord; a brother, John Charles Riddle (Naomi) of Troutman; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Byers, Doris Harris, Ruth Mills and Eula Gilley and two brothers, Bill and Smith Riddle . A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynne Lepley officiating.
