Mary Eloise Galliher Browne

July 21, 1933 - Oct. 13, 2011

Mary Eloise Galliher Browne, 78, of 3411 Cambridge Place, Statesville, passed away on October 13, 2011 at Gordon Hospice House. She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 52 years, Charles Robert Browne; her children, Floyd Edward Bennett, Judy Bennett Voelske (John), Terry Lynne Browne, and Charles "Timmy" Browne, all of Statesville; her grandchildren, Michael Voelske (Jenell Burum), Brian Voelske (Alyson Rogers), Heather Voelske Cheek (Corey), Nicole Bennett Hinson, Chuckie Bennett, Michelle Smith Poe (Allen), Karlea and Kaylea Browne; and her eleven great grandchildren. Mary was a long time resident of Bowie, MD, was an avid gardener, and loved working with flowers and decorating. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay Will and Ivey Osheal Albea Galliher and two brothers, Hubert Lee and Jimmy Galliher. A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Statesville with the Rev. Brian Langley officiating. The family will also receive family and friends at other times at the residence. We would like to extend a special "thank you" to Dr. Sam Stout for his care and dedication to our wife and mother. We would also like to thank the nurses and CNAs on Davis Hospital’s 3rd floor and the staff of Gordon Hospice House.
