Mr. Marvin Sanford “Sandy” Cline, Jr., 78, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, February 10, 2020 at Forsyth Regional Medical Center.

Sandy was born April 5, 1941 in Davie County and was the son of the late Marvin Sanford Cline, Sr. and Dottie Rupard Cline. He attended Davie County schools and on September 15, 1961, he married Ann Cartner Cline. He was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and worked for Davie Auto Parts/ O’Reilly Auto Parts. Sandy was a jack of all trades. He loved helping others, working on antique tractor restoration, where he was a founder of the Old Time Tractor Pull Association (OTTPA). He loved camping and especially his family.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by a son, Marty S. Cline of Statesville, two grandchildren, Mary Hannah Cline of Longmont, CO, Jack Cline of Hickory, one brother, Flake Cline of Mocksville, two sisters, Nora Latham of Mocksville, Peggy Angell of Manteo, NC and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, February 14, 2020 at Clarksbury United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarksbury UMC Special Fund, 2464 Old Mocksville Hwy., Statesville, NC 28625 and online condolences may be made to the family at www.troutmanfuneralhome.com
