Marshall Lyndon Knight

Marshall Lyndon Knight, 94, of Statesville passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at his home. He was born on September 24, 1929, in Iredell County to the late Millard Davis "M.D." Knight and the late Olene Campbell Knight.

Marshall graduated from Union Grove High School and worked as a foreman at J.C. Penny Distribution Center for over 40 years and was known as “Cowboy”. He married his wife of 73 years, Hazel Barkley Knight in September of 1950. He was also a member of Winthrop Friends Church in Harmony.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Knight, and Bobby Knight.

Those who survive include his wife, Hazel Knight; his son, Steve Knight (Ann); his daughter, Cathy Knight; two grandsons, David Knight (Dana) and Michael Knight; and his sister, Billie Ann Roberts (Jimmy). Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carl Williams officiating with his grandson, Michael Knight, speaking as well. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County at 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
