Mark Thomas Reynolds

Mark Thomas Reynolds, 78, of Newton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House.

Mark Reynolds was born on January 8, 1948, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Johnnie C. Reynolds Sr. and R.E. Teague Reynolds. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and was a faithful member of East Side Baptist Church.

Mark found joy in fishing, boating, sightseeing, and sharing stories with those around him. Above all, he dearly loved all his girls and treasured the time spent with his family and loved ones.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by Maggie Mae, his beloved dachshund.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 37 years, Robin Stroud Reynolds; two daughters, Tracey Lawing and Kelly Lawing (Jeremy Jones); granddaughters, Storm Conaway (Michael Lutar), Savannah Jones (Christopher Babbitt) and Jacey Mauney (Dylaan); great-grandchildren, Jaden, Julian and Ava; brothers, Johnny Reynolds (Pam) and Wesley Reynolds (Benita); nieces, Michell Bright (Aaron), Jennifer Sellers, Kaitlyn Landreth (Andrew), Ashley Myers and Stephanie Sheridan (Brian); along with other special nieces, nephews and family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 30 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Parks officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

Mark’s girls would like to thank Aunt Cat (Cathy Lawing). No words can fully express what Cathy meant to our family during Dad’s final days. She was a constant source of love, comfort, and strength, and her tenderness, compassion, and unwavering support brought peace and light during a time of heartbreak. Her care for him—and for all of us—will forever remain in our hearts, and we will always be deeply grateful for the steady presence and tireless devotion she gave throughout his final journey.
