Maria Scafidi Cina

April 13, 1934 - February 9, 2017 Maria Scafidi Cina, 82, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Maria was born on April 13, 1934 in Palermo Sicily, Italy to the late Giuseppe Scafidi and Concetta Scafidi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ludovico Cina, her son, Dominick Cina, one sister, and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Joseph Cina, daughters, Diane Hunter-Eldridge and Sarah Spano, sister, Lucia Pellegrino, brothers, Benito Scafidi, Agostino Scafidi, Luigi Scafidi, eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Maria loved cooking, reading, and knitting. Her family will fondly cherish her memory. The family will receive friends at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m and on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
