Margaret Ann Sides

Margaret Ann Stroud Sides, 68, of Statesville, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Wetumpka, AL on October 25, 1941, to the late Elzie Stroud and Louise Hart Stroud. Mrs. Sides retired from the Food Service division of the Buncombe County schools system in Asheville. Mrs. Sides was a member of Oswalt Baptist Church and loved to cook. She was a wife, a mother and a grandmother who dearly loved her family and will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Howard E. Sides, of the home; one son, Jeffrey L. Sides of Spruce Pine; two daughters, Donna (Phillip) Chapman of Fletcher and Lynn (Wayne) Jordan of Mooresville; two sisters, Kathryn Walls of Marietta, GA and Patricia Dennis of Enterprise, AL; three brothers, James, Tommy and Billy Stroud, all of Wetumpka, AL; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Charles Stroud. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27th at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Oswalt Baptist Church in Troutman with the Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville.
