Mrs. Margaret Staples Bryant Ford, 89, of Troutman, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.
She was born on January 13, 1926, in South Hill, Va., to the late Lucille and Burrell H. Staples.
During her early years she worked in the textile industry. Later she began working with others as a caregiver, and continued her work in the healthcare field working in the nursery at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She continued her legacy of caring for others by being instrumental in founding the HELP Ministries of Troutman. She was deeply devoted to her family and her church.
She is survived by her son, William Larry (Julie) Bryant of Gastonia; daughters, Sheila Bryant (Ralph) Dagenhart of Troutman and Deidre Bryant (Billy) Lowrance of Statesville; sister, Mary Wilson of Chester, Va.; brother, Steve (Diane) Staples of Statesville; five grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Lay, Richard (Lisa) Dagenhart, Phillip (Melissa) Dagenhart, Laura (Matt) Jones, and Alison (Chuck) Carter; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bryant, in 1958; sister, Carolyn Moose; brother, Louis Staples; and grandson, Scott Bryant.
A Committal Service for Margaret Ford will be held Friday, February 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the cemetery of Troutman First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Carr officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the memorial service.
