Margaret Feimster

Margaret S. Feimster, a recent resident of Brookdale Assisted Living, passed away peacefully at the Gordon Hospice House on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

She was the daughter of Rochie Daniel Souther and Tishie Mae Speaks Souther. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Zeb L. Feimster, along with her brothers, Dorsey L. Souther and Lester D. Souther; sisters, Flora Belle Souther Goodin, Lela Souther Dishman and Patricia Souther Rhinehardt; and son-in-law, Kenneth Higgins.

She is survived by her daughters, Shelbie F. Higgins and Carol F. Sipes (Wesley).

Margaret was a loving grandmother to Bradley Hayes (Kim), Heather S. Baldwin (Steven), Chris Sipes (Amber), Justin Sipes (Elizabeth), and a special great grandmother to Sally and Will Hayes, Luke and Hunter Baldwin, Kerrigan, Parker and Lincoln Sipes, and Chloe and Harper Sipes. She was further survived by special nieces and nephews and 2 special friends, Lois Wease and Polly Austin.

Margaret was a lifelong member of Hebron Baptist Church, where she served in various ministries. She devoted many years in the cafeteria at Ebenezer Elementary School and the Statesville Auto Auction, and caring for her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. A private family burial will be held on Monday at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
