Ludie Thigpen

Mr. Ludie William Thigpen, 80, of Olin, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Ludie was born on May 31, 1936 to the late Edward Thigpen and Grace McCrory Thigpen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth; second wife, Betty Thigpen, and his sister, Clara Martin. He is survived by three step-daughters, Phyllis (Larry) Wilson, Dana (Richard) Fox, Kim (Corey) Goodman; nephews, William (Kathy) Martin and Tommy Martin, and niece, Gail Martin. Ludie was known for always being able to fix things, and he thoroughly enjoyed his mechanic work. The family will receive friends at Troutman Funeral Home on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A private family committal will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bobby Henderson officiating. Troutman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Ludie Thigpen.
