Lucy Grey Barker Wingler

Lucy Grey Barker Wingler, 84, of Troutman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Born on March 8, 1926 in Morgan County, Ohio to the late Buren Vester and Beatrice Wayne Barker, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a homemaker and a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Tam Wingler of the home; a daughter, Lorene (Charlie) Hobbs of Troutman; four sons, Jerry and Leroy Wingler, both of Troutman and Dale (Wanda) and Mark (Ann) Wingler, both of Statesville; a brother, Boyd Barker of Wilkesboro; three sisters, Imogene (Link) Osborne of Wilkesboro, Mary (Harry) Frisbee of New York, and Betty Sue Ames of Georgia; ten grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Hobbs, Gary, Terry, Stephen, Scott, Freddy, Tommy and Brittany Wingler and Sharon Beaty; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Barker. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Lucy’s life will be held on Monday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ostwalt Baptist Church, 198 Ostwalt Amity Road, Troutman, NC 28166 or to the donor’s favorite charity or church.
