Lucy Rash

Lucy Ball Rash, 89 of Statesville, NC passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House following a period of declining health. Born April 29, 1935, in Surry County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Clyde Ball and Rema Hudson Ball.

She was a graduate of Elkin High School in 1953, Elkin, NC. On June 7, 1958, she was married to Wayne Rash who survives. She was a legal secretary and had worked with Attorney John Massey for a number of years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister, Maretha Ball Carter.

Along with her husband, Lucy is survived by a sister, Betsy B. Mize of Lancaster, SC and a brother, Rev. Clyde Ball Jr. (Lillian) of Advance, NC. She is further survived by six nieces, one nephew, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends Monday, June 17, 2024, in the Adams Hall at First Baptist Church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Monday, June 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Nelson Granade officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
