Lorene (Rash) Johnson

Lorene Rash Johnson, 87 of Statesville passed away Thursday, August 31st, 2023 at The Greens of Mapleleaf. Mrs. Johnson was born in Iredell County, NC on March 8th, 1936 to the late Minnie Owens Rash and Charlie Rash. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her late husband Melvin Reece Johnson, a son Donald Lee Johnson, sisters Lora Kurfees, Margaret Femister, and a brother Richard Rash.

Mrs. Johnson retired with 40 plus years of service at Brain Center of Statesville. Mrs. Johnson was a very special beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory and legacy are a son David Reece Johnson and wife Elaine of Statesville. Two grandchildren Eric Johnson of Statesville and Joshua Johnson and wife Joni, two great grandchildren, Aidan & Dylan Johnson of Statesville, a brother Fred Rash of Salisbury, NC and a sister Mary Benge of Statesville, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, September 4 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Eanes and Rev. Paul Hill officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Fairview Baptist Church at 349 Turnersburg Hwy, Statesville, NC 28625.
