Lois (Beckham) Brown

April 5, 1923 — May 22, 2022

Mrs. Lois Beckham Brown, 99, of Cleveland, NC passed away, May 22, 2022, following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Brown was born April 5, 1923, in Iredell County, a daughter of the late Garland and Mary Summers Beckham.  She was a graduate of Scotts High School.  On December 22, 1949, she married John Myers Brown.  They enjoyed 60 years of marriage before the death of Mr. Brown in 2010.  In earlier years, Mrs. Brown was employed by Troutman Shirt Co., and in the cafeteria of Amity Elementary School.  But first and foremost, she helped her husband with the operation of the family farm at Amity Hill.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.  She was blessed with a deep Christian faith and love for God.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Rachel Beckham Edwards.

Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, Michael Brown (Tracy), one daughter, Alice St. Clair (Thomas), seven grandchildren, Terry Brown (with whom she made her home), Matt and Miranda Aiken, Josh Riddle (Katie), Madison Riddle, Brittney and Courtney St. Clair, great-grandchildren, Wesley, Waylon, Walker and Annabella Riddle, and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to publicly express profound appreciation to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.  Your compassion and professional care of our loved one will never be forgotten.

A funeral service for Mrs. Brown will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 26, 2022 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will visit with friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the funeral service at Triplett United Methodist Church Cemetery,

Pallbearers will be David Edwards, Josh Riddle, Mark Brown, Chris Galliher, Jeff Galliher and Matt Aiken.
