Lindsay Nicole Dunlap

Lindsay Nicole Dunlap, age 42, of Troutman, NC, passed away peacefully at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC, on October 22, 2025, after a courageous year and a half battle with ovarian cancer. Lindsay was born on July 16, 1983, in New Haven, CT, to the late Jeff and Betty Dunlap. She was a graduate of Indiana State University and was employed by Racinelli Construction as a project coordinator.

Lindsay lived her life with a radiant spirit and a generous heart. Those who knew her remember her warm smile, her laughter that could light up any room, and her deep compassion for others. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and cared for – whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a simple shared moment.

She is survived by her paternal grandmother, Joan Dunlap; her aunt and uncle who raised her after her parent’s death, Mike and Pam McCrea; one sister, Kelly (Sam) Smith; and three aunts and uncles, Wanda (Kenneth) English, Brenda (Jim) DeFreitas, Troy (Terry) Williamson, and Edward (Teresa) Dugan. Also surviving are special siblings, Darrin (Renee) McCrea, Jennifer McCrea, and Amanda (Jason) Simpson; several nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews; and special friends, Brad and Cindy Smith and Steven Biondo.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gene and Nina Dugan; her paternal grandfather, Bill Dunlap; two aunts, Gloria Dugan and Nancy Williamson; one uncle, David Dugan; and one brother-in-law, Alan McCrea. Her best friend, Cecilia “CeCe" Vincent also preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life service for Lindsay will be conducted on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home at 345 N. Main Street, Troutman, NC. Pastor Hugh Whitfield will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
