Linda Leazer Sheets

Linda Leazer Sheets, 68, of Statesville, went into the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Born May 10, 1943 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen Johnson Leazer. She was a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church and was retired from Thomasville Upholstery. Linda loved NASCAR racing and loved her family and church dearly. Her daily companions were her two dogs, Shorty and Rowdy. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Spencer Sheets, of the home; two daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Lamberth of Troutman and Beverly (Larry) Woods of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Louise (Bill) Riddell and a brother, Leonard Leazer, Jr., both of Colorado Springs, CO. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Briana Shea Steele. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 12th from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at Ostwalt Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. Interment will be at Iredell Memorial Park. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the fourth floor nursing staff of Iredell Memorial Hospital for their kindness and loving care of Linda.
