Linda Christine (Peacock) Carpenter

Linda Christine Peacock Carpenter, 77, of Statesville, passed away following an extended illness on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Linda was born on March 24, 1947, in Iredell County to the late Clyde Cornelius Peacock, Sr. and Margaret “Lucille” Galliher Peacock. She was a long-time member of Bethlehem Methodist Church. Linda was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Paul Dale Carpenter, for fifty-six years up until his death in August of 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved traveling, gardening, flowers and shopping.

In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Haithcox, Clyde Peacock Jr. and Sylvia McLemore

Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her daughters Paula “Dawn” Carpenter Benfield (Mark Josey) and Tammy “Annette” Carpenter Weaver (Chad Eckard), her grandchildren, Samantha Bingman (James), Celeste Benfield Sharpe (Chase), Dylan Weaver (Brianna Deel), and Alyssa Weaver, her great granddaughters, Lydia Faith Bingman and Lily Ann Weaver. Also surviving is her sister, Mary P. Bowman, brother, Gilbert Peacock, mother-in-law, Polly Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 17, at Troutman Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 18, at Bethlehem Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
