Lillie Mae Poole, 77, of Olin, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Lillie was born on May 8, 1948, in Iredell County, the daughter of the late King and Erma Mae Gatton Poole. She attended Union Grove School and was a member of the first graduating class of North Iredell High School in 1967.

She was a long-time member of Fairmount United Methodist Church, where she was devoted to caring for the church and its grounds. She helped mow the churchyard, assisted with cleaning, taught Sunday School, and served as a Lay Speaker. In sharing her testimony, she often spoke about how God saved her life after she was robbed and stabbed by a girl when she was younger.

Lillie loved her family deeply and had a special place in her heart for her cats and dogs. She was also a devoted caregiver to her parents.

She enjoyed selling Stanley Products, which gave her the opportunity to travel to places such as New Orleans, Boston, and Tennessee. Lillie worked at Beauty Maid Mills for 29 years as an inspector and stock manager, and she performed many other roles at the plant, including serving as a telephone operator.

She later became a self-taught manager of Attitudes & Undies for 18 years, building a faithful rapport with her customers. She also worked at North Middle School for six years, part-time at Sister Consignment for Maggie Mash, and spent one year working part-time at a consignment store downtown.

In addition to her parents, Lille was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Poole.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Rickey Poole (Lynn); special friend, Ronnie Williams; several cousins, along with Larry McIntosh, who was like a brother, and special friend, Jody Parsons
