Lewis Henderson Jenkins, 81, of Stony Point, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
He was born on January 25, 1937 in Iredell County to the late Farrell Boyde Jenkins and Eva Jane Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda Watt and three brothers, John Jenkins, Lynn Jenkins, and Boyd Jenkins.
Lewis was a retired brick mason and poultry farmer. He served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he was given a Marksmanship Award. In his free time, he loved to be outdoors. He especially enjoyed gardening and riding on his tractor. He was also a member of New Sterling A.R.P. Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 52 years, Marilyn Jo Jenkins; daughters, Gina (Tony) Parker and Melissa (KK) Kuelbs; sister, Carolyn Elliot; brother, Allen (Ronnie) Jenkins; and granddaughters, Ashton and Aly Parker, who will all miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Linderman officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Iredell County Veteran’s Burial Detail.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
