Lenual Parks Forsyth, 94, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House. Lenual was born on September 9, 1931, in Iredell County, to the late William Everett Forsyth and Ada Mae Mayberry Forsyth.
In 1949, after graduating Celeste Henkel High School, Lenual joined the Navy where he served as an information systems technician (RadioMan). He attended Beulah Baptist Church since childhood and joined at age 18. He was a dedicated member for 76 years. He faithfully handled the books until a secretary was hired and was affectionately known as the 'Keeper of the Key' He was also a proud member of the West Iredell Lions Club for over 40 years and served as District Governor from 2000 to 2001.
Lenual lived a beautiful full life and touched many people's hearts and lives. He was always willing to help and never wanted recognition for it.
In addition to his parents, Lenual was proceeded in death by his brother Robert 'Bob' Lee Forsyth, nephew Robert Scott Forsyth, and Ruth Grant.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Joan Forsyth, son Leonard, daughter Barbara (Neil), nephew Randall Forsyth (Michelle), great nephew Eric Forsyth (Stacy), sister-in-law, Jane Forsyth Harris, and many special people he loved as if they were his own family.
Special thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County for the special care you provided Lenual for the past year. To Gordon Hospice House for not only taking care of him but making sure the entire family was as well. You truly are the most caring and compassionate angels.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 22 at Beulah Baptist Church, with Rev. Brian Burgess and Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks to make donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
Arrangements for Mr. Forsyth are in the care of Troutman Funeral Home.
